Today we will look at more of my garden. When we have finished, you will look at flowers and unusual plants in your garden… or on a garden walk. Then you will draw what you see.

In this lesson, we learn some more about Henri Rousseau and look at some of the leaves from trees in my garden. We will have a quick demo on drawing a leaf, and then you will go outside and draw 3 leaves of your own!

Henri Rousseau was born in 1844, almost 200 years ago, in the little town of Laval in the country of France. He taught himself how to paint, he loved nature and landscapes, and he never gave up.
In today’s lesson we’ll begin to create trees by sketching out a trunk and adding texture.
