Sonoma County Landscapes, Rivers & Marshes
Painting is the visual definition of what, I think, is best about living in Sonoma County. Our diverse panoramas from Russian River mists to Laguna de Santa Rosa fog are distinctly unique. The vineyards have clean, defined linear patterns while the vanishing orchards hold lovely shadows.
Light gives weight to color. The color shapes constantly change. A scene at dawn is entirely different when painted at the end of the day. Sebastopol offers enough of this diversity to keep me questing within a very limited range. That, plus a busy art teaching schedule, keeps me close to home.
